Rooibos Tea

Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) is a plant from South Africa. Just like fruit tea and herbal tea, it is not an official tea because it does not come from the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis). Since about 1930, the plant has been grown for this tea-like beverage. The leaves of the plant are picked, mashed and laid in the sun for oxidation. In the final phase, the Rooibos acquires its red-brown color. Like green tea, Green Rooibos is dried but not oxidized.

Rooibos is completely caffeine-free and rich in vitamin C, mineral salts and proteins.
